The Creepy Coalition: An $80 Million Threat to California Women
By Thunder Parley

We have all seen the disturbing headlines. Unchecked billionaires exploiting, silencing and endangering women behind closed doors.
For many progressive women, disgust has turned into pure betrayal. They are watching trusted institutions spend millions to defend predators while leaving victims completely behind.
But we do not have to look at national headlines to see billionaires bankrolling policies that put women in danger.
Right here in California, another billionaire is spending a massive fortune to buy a megaphone for a coalition whose policies allow violent criminals to exploit and endanger women in our own neighborhoods.
I have been a Democrat my entire life. But right now, I am furious with a radical fringe that loves to talk about the affordability crisis while completely ignoring our basic security.
My neighbors are exhausted and crushed by costs. But there is a toll even steeper than housing, utilities and groceries.
We cannot afford a state government willing to gamble with our lives to satisfy a radical base.
True progress means protecting the vulnerable. But the extremes of our party prioritize the comfort of violent offenders over the safety of women.
Now, this radical wing has officially anointed Tom Steyer as their gladiator for the June primary. He is using his limitless campaign fund to force their extreme agenda on the rest of us.
Look closely at the politicians pulling his strings. He has proudly accepted the endorsements of the most extreme voices against accountability in our state.
Take Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur and his rightfully withdrawn legislation, AB 1333. Zbur tried to package this as an anti vigilante measure. In reality, it was a direct assault on a woman's right to self defense.
It is objectively creepy. Under the literal text of his bill, a woman facing an attempted rapist would be forced to calculate her escape route in a split second. If she used lethal force to stop him, she could be charged with homicide.
Consider who this actually endangers. A college student walking to her dorm after a late study session. A single mother pushing a stroller through her neighborhood. A businesswoman cornered in her own apartment hallway. Under this legislation, extreme politicians expect them to run. If they fight back and survive, they become the criminals.
Meanwhile, a billionaire on a gated estate keeps their right to self defense anywhere on their land. It is an invasive, out of touch double standard.
Then look at Assemblymember Isaac Bryan. He was a vocal opponent of Proposition 36.
While tearful mothers stood at podiums begging for relief after losing their children to accidental fentanyl overdoses, Bryan and his allies fought tooth and nail to keep penalties weak. They looked directly at grieving families whose lives had been shattered by poisoned drugs and chose ideological purity over accountability.
Tom Steyer is hiding behind his wallet, refusing to tell Californians if he actually supports the will of the voters on Prop 36. He does not have to.
Guided by this radical coalition, a Steyer administration could simply use the state budget to defund enforcement entirely. He is bankrolling a campaign that leaves women and vulnerable communities exposed to daily dangers his coalition refuses to acknowledge.
You cannot buy common sense.
Tom Steyer is betting $80 million and growing that California families will look the other way while his coalition dismantles our safety. He is hoping we care more about slick television commercials than the reality on our streets.
He is wrong.
We are completely done with politicians who refuse to live in reality. We do not need another billionaire empowering an extreme, dangerous coalition.
The physical safety of California women is a fundamental right. And it is certainly not for sale.
